Lois Lowry has written many books beloved by children and adults alike, which have garnered countless honours and awards, including Newbery Medalsfor Number the Stars and The Giver. She was also a finalist in 2000 for the international Hans Christian Anderson Award and recently received the 'Best of Brooklyn' award at the 2013 Brooklyn Book Festival.
