Author description

Bozhidar Abrashev has been a professor at the Pancho Vladigerov Music Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria since 1964, where he teaches symphonic orchestration and trains students in instrument making. He has written extensively on music before; with this volume, he presents an extraordinarily vivid and historically invaluable survey of musical instruments. Vladimir Gadjev is an outstanding music critic and a lecturer in the sociology of music at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia.
