Common Ground to Plant Our Dreams?

Author(s): Guy Rundle

Australiana

The 2022 Australian federal election saw a rampaging crew of greens, reds and teals take on the government of Scott Morrison at the bitter ebd if a decade if futility, waste, lack of action, as well as persecutions, culture wars, backstabbing, infighting and utter incompetence. In the end, it was a triumph for progressive forces, which saw the de facto collapse of the Liberal Party, and the failure of the hard right.

These reports from the road catch the great Australian public in the act of democracy from romance on the Gold Coast to chicken soup in Tasmania, the battle for Kooyong, and McNecky in Parramatta, a right wing buffet in Brisbane, and into the past in the Mallee. Snapshots of a time when we chose hope over fear, possibility over resignation, and instead of despair, expectation of inevitable disappointment. Enjoy!
