Peter Milne’s When Nature Forgets is a sardonic photographic documentation of historical diorama displays, which focuses on dummies, mannequins and dolls in a range of locations across Australia, ranging from small local history displays to major state-run institutions. Milne’s investigation of these sites where history is recreated for our edification and entertainment yields humorously absurd yet often touching and emotionally disturbing results.
